Installing parking sensors on a vaz with your own hands. Installing parking sensors with your own hands Which parking sensors to install on a VAZ 2110

I think there is no need to explain the practicality of having a parking sensor in the car. Especially if the car is operated in a metropolis. And if there is also a spoiler on the car ...

Parktronic was chosen according to the following criteria: the presence of 4 sensors and a display that reflects the distance to the object, low price. The Falcon BPS-4i parking radar was chosen.

The connection does not raise any questions as there is an instruction ... We connect the parking sensors to the positive wire that goes to the lights reverse.

Removing the bumper is described in detail in the Operation and Repair Manual for VAZ 2110-11-12. The problem arose only when choosing a place for installing the sensors. According to the manufacturer's recommendations, the distance between the sensors should be about 30-33 cm, and the installation height should not be lower than 30 cm from the road - otherwise, false alarms are possible. Therefore, the recess in the bumper skirt was excluded from possible locations installation. The only place suitable for installation is the recess numbered. But with such an arrangement of parking sensors, it is necessary to install small spacers to ensure perpendicularity to the road surface. We lay the wires from the sensors through the standard hole along with the wires for the license plate illumination. The control unit can be attached to the stiffening rib of the right panel supporting the luggage compartment shelf. We run the display cable on the right side under the headliner. And the parking sensor itself is fixed with a self-tapping screw on the panel that covers the rear-view mirror mount.

During the operation, some features were identified, both pleasant and not so:
+ information about the distance to the object is displayed quite accurately, both sound and visual indication;
+ when parking, sensors can even distinguish between embankment fencing gratings;
- instead of the 1.5 meters distance to the object declared by the manufacturer, the beeper starts working only at a distance of 1 meter;
- at low temperatures (below -15C), the parking sensors slow down a little, i.e. triggers with a certain delay.

For many drivers, parking sensors have already become an integral part of the car, as they make parking much easier. The reason for this is the huge number of cars and the lack of parking spaces, and if there are any, it will not be easy to get there. This is what parktronics are for. Sensors scan the rear and front of the vehicle, giving early warning of approaching objects. On many modern cars foreign production, parking sensors are installed from the factory, but in the Russian car industry they don’t even think about such an innovation. You have to do everything yourself. This article will describe in detail the process of installing parking sensors on a car.
So, let's begin. First you need to choose a set of sensors that will more or less meet the standard. Usually sellers in auto parts stores do not try to slip any bullshit on you, since in many cases they themselves do not know which is better. It is better to choose a set of parking sensors by their number, the minimum number of sensors is 2. For a more detailed scan of the terrain and for scanning dead zones, it is best to purchase a set of sensors, the list of which includes 4 sensors.

The main thing when installing parking sensors is to determine the correct location of the sensors on the bumper. If you do everything wrong, then the sensors will be a little, but deceive about approaching objects. Thus, the system will notify you about the distance to the object either very early or too late, or it may not detect objects at all.
When choosing parking sensors, take into account their resistance to temperature, to the arrival of a car in a car wash, etc. If you take into account these parameters, then you will not suffer in the winter season with frost. There are several types of parking sensors, for example, Multitronics PT-3TC sensors, have the ability to work with certain on-board computers TC 750, VC731, RC-700 and many other computers from Multitronics. If you have a desire to paint the parking sensors in the color of the car, then you can paint them with ordinary paint, this will not affect the operation of the sensors. Prices for parking sensors are different, they start from one thousand rubles, depending on their quality and brand. Something I got into talking, let's get down to the operation of installing parking sensors. Getting started. In order to install the sensors, we need to drill four holes in the bumper, equal in diameter and height to the location on the bumper. For convenience, the bumper can be removed, but you can do without it, since everyone is comfortable in different ways. Using a centimeter, mark the appropriate distance between the sensors and drill holes in the desired location.

Now you can install parking sensors. In my case, I removed the bumper and only then started drilling. For drilling, there is a special crown in the parktronic kit, which has the exact size of the sensors. We install the sensors and adjust them so that they are in the same plane. Now you need to stretch the wires. I decided to run the wiring through the trunk. Using a drill, we make a hole in the body and push the wires there. We stretch the wires into the trunk. Now, in the rear right corner of the trunk, we attach the sensor control panel and power this panel from the positive wire, the reverse light, so it will only work when the reverse gear is on. Now everything is ready, we check everything in action and rejoice.

Parktronic is a very useful thing for any driver, especially for a beginner. This device allows you to park conveniently and quickly in the most difficult situations. Thanks to such a system, the driver knows exactly how much his car is left behind for an obstacle. If the target is close, the system begins to emit sound signals of a certain frequency, and lamps may also light up. And if a more professional system is chosen, then in the cabin on the liquid crystal display you can even see the distance to the obstacle in numbers.

This article will discuss how you can install parking sensors on a VAZ 2114 with your own hands.

Materials and tools for manufacturing:

- a set of parking sensors;
- bumper;
- wires;
- soldering iron with solder;
- self-tapping screws;
- roulette;
- drill with a 22 mm cutter;
- screwdriver and other tools.

Parktronic installation process:

Step one. Bumper preparation
First of all, the author removes the bumper and gives it to be painted. After the bumper has been sanded, primed and painted, the necessary sensors are installed in it.

Among other things, do not forget to install all fasteners on the painted bumper, if they were removed before painting. To do this, you need to tighten four screws and four bolts by 10.

Step two. Bumper markings

In the second step, the bumper needs to be marked. It is necessary to accurately determine in advance the places where the parking sensors will be installed. Two sensors are installed at the edges, and two more towards the center. If the sensors are simply placed in the center, the system simply will not see the obstacle if it is on the edge of the bumper.

Now you can start drilling the bumper and installing the sensors. In total, four holes are needed, the fifth was drilled for other purposes, the author plans to install a camera there.
After installing the sensors, the bumper can be installed on the vehicle.

Step three. We carry out the wiring
To carry out the wiring to the salon, you will need to unscrew the taillights. In this case, two wires will pass on the right side and two on the left. As you can see in the photo, the lights are attached with four bolts.

In order to secure the parktronic unit, small self-tapping screws were used. The unit is mounted on an acoustic shelf. At the final stage, all the wiring is hidden under the upholstery.

In order for the parktronic monitor to turn on only after turning on the reverse speed, plus you need to feed it from the rear light. To do this, you need to ring the lamp block and find a plus there, which turns on only when the reverse speed is turned on. The wire on the VAZ 2114 is green. As for the minus, it is taken from the mass; for this, the wire can be fixed with a lantern fastening nut.

Next, the wires need to be pulled from the parking sensors unit to the monitor, which is located in the cabin. The author stretched the wires under the carpet, while the thresholds were unscrewed. Where to fix the monitor, you can see in the photo.

That's all, after the system is assembled, you can start testing. According to the author, the system lacks a little reaction, so for those who like to drive quickly backwards, the system will not allow determining the distance to the obstacle in time. If you park slowly, then everything works without any problems. When about 20-30 cm remains to the target, the system begins to "beep and blush". However, you can navigate both by the display and by sound signals. If necessary, the same sensors can be installed in the front of the car.

Parktronic is a device designed to facilitate the parking process of a novice motorist. You can install parking sensors in numerous car dealerships or do it yourself. We will consider the last option, when there is no desire or opportunity to go to the car service.

First you need to decide on the choice of a device. Nowadays the stores offer a huge number of different models and modifications. By and large, there are few differences among this multitude. The main differences are appearance monitor, and the characteristics of the sensors themselves are no different. A different number of sensors can be installed on the bumpers of the car. Usually, car enthusiasts install 4 on each bumper, and some motorists only put on the rear one. Parking sensors on tinted cars are especially relevant when, in conditions of limited visibility, you have to turn back into the dark.

Installation process

Wash the car immediately before installing the parking sensors. Next, you need to determine the places most suitable for installing the sensors. For example, in a jeep, the spare wheel mount, which can be placed on the rear door, is the extreme dimension point.

The next step is to dismantle the car bumper. During the dismantling process, be careful not to confuse the fasteners for the front and rear bumper... After that, you need to make a markup and drill holes for the parking sensors (Fig. 1). But you don't have to remove the bumper - you can drill holes like that, only then you need some skill and patience to lead the wires into the car interior.

Rice. 1: mark the places on the bumper for sensors

When marking the places for the sensors, it is important to be extremely careful: excess drilled holes will be impossible to eliminate. In order to better navigate in the future when parking, the parking sensors are located at the same distance from each other.

The next step is laying the wires (Fig. 2) and connecting the sensors of the device to the electrical circuit of the car. Before connecting the sensors and parking sensors, you need to de-energize the car's electrical circuit. Laying the wires from the sensors to the parking sensors must be extremely careful. The rear bumper sensors can be connected to the power supply for the reversing lights. Thus, the parking sensors will only be triggered when you are in reverse gear. This is convenient - once again there will be no squeak in the car when, for example, in a traffic jam, someone drives up close behind.

Rice. 2: routing wires from sensors

Then the board is installed (Fig. 3) and all sensors are connected. The location of the parking sensors must be extremely favorable for the driver: he must see the readings of the board without changing the position of his head.

Rice. 3: parking radar display

That's all! The whole procedure takes 2-3 hours - it's not so long, but at the same time educational. And below we suggest watching the whole process on video.

Installation process on video

Today we will tell you about self-installation parking sensors for VAZ 2110. Anyone can install it, here you don't need to have any knowledge in the field of electrical engineering, the main thing is to follow the instructions. I suggest looking at our report on installing parking sensors on a car with your own hands.

This article describes the installation of the Falcon BPS-4i parking sensors. The need for parking sensors is associated with poor lighting at night, when parking is a very useful thing.

Note that more detailed description about installing parking sensors with your own hands can be found, only the installation was carried out on the Lada Kalina.

When choosing a parking sensor, the main criteria were: the presence of 4 sensors and a display that reflects the distance to the object, as well as a low price. All these criteria are fully met by the Falcon BPS-4i parking radar.

The connection did not raise any questions, everything is quite obvious from the instructions - connection to the positive wire going to the reversing lights.

Removing the bumper is described in sufficient detail. The problem arose when choosing the location for the sensors. According to manufacturer's recommendations the distance between the sensors should be 30-33 cm and installation height at least 30 cm from the road- otherwise, false positives are possible. This eliminates a recess in the bumper skirt from possible installation locations.

The only place suitable for installation is the recess under the number (see photo above). However, this arrangement of sensors requires the installation of small spacers to ensure perpendicularity to the road surface. In general, even in this matter, Avtovaz planted a big "pig". The wires from the sensors were routed through the standard hole together with the wires for the license plate illumination. The control unit was attached to the right panel stiffener that supports the luggage compartment shelf. The display cable is routed on the right-hand side under the headliner. The display itself was screwed onto the panel covering the rear-view mirror mount.

The operating results revealed several features, both pleasant and not so:
- information (both audio and visual) about the distance to the object is displayed quite accurately;
- The distance of object detection of 1.5 meters declared by the manufacturer has not justified itself ... the beeper starts working at a distance of 1 meter;
- when parking, the sensors even distinguish between embankment fencing gratings;
- at low temperatures (below -15C), the parking sensors are triggered with a certain delay.

Recall that in the previous news, we considered it with our own hands.
